The Reagan Carrier Strike Group (CSG) is conducting its spring patrol. USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) deployed with Japan-based Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5 and Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15. Three carrier strike groups are converging in the Western Pacific – the Reagan, Theodore Roosevelt and Nimitz CSGs. This provides an opportunity to conduct multi-carrier operations, a high-end skill set the Navy must practice and does when opportunities present themselves.
