Three U.S. Navy Carrier Strike Groups – centered on USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76), USS Nimitz (CVN-68) and USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) — completed a combined operational exercise off the Korean Peninsula last week.

The Ronald Reagan, Nimitz and Theodore Roosevelt carrier strike groups assembled for a photo exercise on Nov. 12 along with ships from the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force. While carrier strike groups working together normally operate in a dispersed fashion, the PHOTOEX is a public relations effort to show off U.S. and allied military assets.

The Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group continues to operate in the Sea of Japan.
