Document: Joint High Speed Vessel Follow-on Operational Test and Evaluation Report

The following is a Sept. 22, 2015 memo and report on follow-on operational test and evaluation for the Joint High Speed Vessel, recently renamed the Expeditionary Fast Transport.

      Are you sure you don’t mean IN-EPT?

    This ship class should have be typed as T-APC meaning a ship placed in service with MSC and performing the missions of a Coastal Transport. A type with history back to WW1. That type is listed in the NVR and has been used in the past. Expeditionary and Mobile are redundant terms not to mention that most ships MOVE i.e. are mobile.
    The class should have been named for US Merchant Marine Heroes of WW2 vice the now trite use of a US city. How many USN ships are named after cities now?

      Why don’t you also give the CVN-79, Gerald Ford, the SAME “T” Designate. And called it T-CVN-79, Gerald Ford? Because until it ACTUALLY Does something Noteworthy, THAT’S ALL SHE WORTH…

    A Monica Bellucci It’s not. Good for point to point follow on mission maybe even using it to provide interdiction with Ribs and helicopters or VS-22’s.

    I hope their able to resolve issue with the cracking. The ship is too new for that non-sense to happen. I’m not big lover of Aluminum construction, no matter how much weight savings is gained. Thing not as strong most of the time as steel, if fire happens it will melt unless they resolved that issue recently.
