          Not true. Admiral John Richardson (current CNO) visited my SOBC course when he was SUBFOR. A student asked why we did not invest in diesel electric submarines. He was very clear the US Navy has no interest in diesel electric submarines. We do not fight in our backyard, nuclear power ensures we can always take the fight to the enemy.
