The following is a response from Headquarters U.S. Marine Corps to Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI), who in April inquired about the investigations that have taken place since Marine Corps Private Raheel Siddiqui died March 18 at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. The letter, signed by Legislative Assistant to the Commandant of the Marine Corps Brig. Gen. David Furness, notes that the commanding officer of the Recruit Training Regiment was relieved of duty yesterday due to a loss of trust and confidence in his ability to perform that job.
