Rear Admiral (lower half) Robert E. Traister, USN (covered)

The following is a list of U.S. Navy flag officer announcements from the Pentagon, released this afternoon. The bulk of the list is comprised of Navy captains who are nominated for the rank of Rear Admiral.

Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel announced today that the president has made the following nominations:

Navy Vice Adm. Sean A. Pybus, for reappointment to the rank of vice admiral and for assignment as deputy commander, U.S. Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. Pybus is currently serving as commander, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Special Operations Headquarters, Brussels, Belgium.

Navy Capt. Brian J. Brakke, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Brakke is currently serving as chief of staff, Navy Expeditionary Combat Command Pacific, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Navy Capt. Richard A. Brown, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Brown is currently serving as commanding officer, Surface Warfare Officer School Command, Newport, R.I.

Navy Capt. James S. Bynum, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Bynum is currently serving as executive assistant, Office of the Vice Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. Peter J. Clarke, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Clarke is currently serving as assistant deputy director for regional operations and force management, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. Scott D. Conn, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Conn is currently serving as director, strike aircraft plans and requirements, N985, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. Brian K. Corey, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Corey is currently serving as a vice commander, Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md.

Navy Capt. Richard A. Correll, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Correll is currently serving as director, submarine/nuclear power distribution, Navy Personnel Command, Millington, Tenn.

Navy Capt. Kathleen M. Creighton, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Creighton is currently serving as commanding officer, U.S. Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station, Bahrain.

Navy Capt. Marc H. Dalton, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Dalton is currently serving as executive assistant to the commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk, Va.

Navy Capt. Shane G. Gahagan, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Gahagan is currently serving as program manager for air warfare, (PMA-298), program executive officer for tactical aircraft programs, Patuxent River, Md.

Navy Capt. Timothy C. Gallaudet, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Gallaudet is currently serving as superintendent, U. S. Naval Observatory, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. Collin P. Green, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Green is currently serving as staff operations and planning officer, Naval Special Warfare Command, Coronado, Calif.

Navy Capt. Dale E. Horan, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Horan is currently serving as executive officer, U.S. Northern Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.

Navy Capt. Mary M. Jackson, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Jackson is currently serving as chief of staff, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic, Norfolk, Va.

Navy Capt. James W. Kilby, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Kilby is currently serving as deputy for ballistic missile defense, AEGIS, Destroyers and Future Surface Combatants, N96F, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. Roy I. Kitchener, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Kitchener is currently serving as vice commander, Naval Mine and Anti-Submarine Warfare Command, San Diego, Calif.

Navy Capt. James J. Malloy, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Malloy is currently serving as chief, European/North Atlantic Treaty Organization Policy Division, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. Ross A. Myers, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Myers is currently serving as aide to the vice chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. Steven L. Parode, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Parode is currently serving as Chief of Naval Operations Strategic Studies Group fellow, Chief of Naval Operations Strategic Studies Group, Newport, R.I.

Navy Capt. Jeffrey S. Ruth, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Ruth is currently serving as commanding officer, USS Nimitz (CVN-68), Everett, Wash.

Navy Capt. Lorin C. Selby, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Selby is currently serving as program manager for advanced undersea research and strategy and operations, (PMS-394), program executive officer for submarines, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. Todd J. Squire, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Squire is currently serving as deputy chief, Office of Defense Cooperation, India.

Navy Capt. John W. Tammen Jr., nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Tammen is currently serving as deputy director, Submarine Warfare Division, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. Kent D. Whalen, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Whalen is currently serving as commanding officer, USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70), San Diego, Calif.

Navy Capt. Kenneth R. Whitesell, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Whitesell is currently serving as director, aviation officer career management and distribution, PERS-43, Navy Personnel Command, Millington, Tenn.

Navy Capt. Charles F. Williams, nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Williams is currently serving as deputy for surface ship systems weapons and sensors, N96C, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. Jesse A. Wilson Jr., nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Wilson is currently serving as executive assistant, N00, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.

Navy Capt. Johnny R. Wolfe Jr., nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). Wolfe is currently serving as deputy director for strategic systems programs, Washington, D.C.
