The Navy is reporting a F/A-18-F Super Hornet attached to the USS Dwight Eisenhower (CVN-69) carrier strike group went down at 12:20pm local time in the North Arabian Sea on Monday.
“Search and Rescue (SAR) swimmers from an SH-60F of HS-5 “Night Dippers” recovered the two aircrew and safely delivered them back to the carrier,” according to a Monday statement from the Navy.
The Super Hornet was part of the Jolly Rogers of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA-103), based in Virginia Beach, Va.

Eisenhower is currently deployed to the Middle East and is the sole U.S. carrier in the region.
The crash is currently under investigation.
