Looks more like the USS Oklahoma, Maryland, West Virginia, and Arizona to me!

  • JohnSvengali

This president’s priorities are removing urinals from ship’s heads and mandating military chaplains marry same-sex couples. But at least Obama slept well during the Beghazi attack. Perhaps he can turn the entire fleet into coral reefs.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001024855278 Richard Jorgensen

only if he goes down with the ship and take his buffalo butt wife.

    • Greg Titus

I hope you also remember the 4,486 men and women that died in Iraq that Jr sent in to avenge the attempt on his daddy. Do you think Jr loses sleep over those people?

      • http://www.facebook.com/brin.londo.3 Brin Londo

I believe that it is a documented fact that the United Nations Security Council approved the multinational invasion of Iraq. So, the UN approved the invasion just so Bush Jr. would get revenge for daddy?
I thought the majority of the world hated America & Bush. Go to Kuwait or many of the interior nations of Africa and you will find they adore him. Especially in Africa for all he has done to combat AIDS and the millions he has sent to stem the disease there.
Five years later, I’m still waiting for Obama to keep his promise to close Gitmo and bring our troops in Iran & Afghanistan home during his FIRST year in office. Why has he allowed these horrors Bush created to remain in place? WIth a stroke of his pen, Obama could end this! The only logical reason to have them remain would be the FACT Bush was right, otherwise they would be already be gone.

        • DAD91

Hello neighbor. The UN specifically disavowed any military action against Iraq absent of any aggravating factor. That’s standard policy for the UN to make explicit approval for military action. In fact, President Bush promised to get a dedicated authorization for force from the UN, but reneged when several UN members promised to block any automatic approval on the conditions at the time. That is incontrovertible fact in the record.

          • Penny Pincher

Since when does the US military need a permission slip from the UN? Granted, it helps us get support, but last I looked they didn’t run this joint.

      • JohnSvengali

I usually flush bowel movements, not respond to them in writing. But you asked me a question, and I’ll make an exception with an answer. I think President Bush does care about those who fought, were wounded or died in the Iraq War. A commander-in-chief makes decisions based upon the best information he has and exercises leadership, weighing risks. Sometimes, regrettably, people have to die for their country. He acted, based upon the information available, including from several reliable nations’ intelligence who believed the Iraq regime of Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. The United States also enforced sanctions that other countries – either through cowardice or corruption – weren’t willing to do. In the post-September 11, 2001 world, no competent president would have taken a chance with Saddam Hussein.

And by the way, if President George W. Bush was president during the Benghazi attack, he’d have definitely “lost sleep,” as he would have been awake and directed a response to save those men. Now, go back to your Nation magazine and watch your MSNBC, you loathsome piss-ant.

        • DAD91

Unfortunately the Iraq invasion is justified by faulty shorthand reading of the record. At the time of the invasion, President Bush knew that major portions of his allegations were incorrect, questionable or unsupported. Folks who support the invasion make the mistake of believing that the intelligence of earlier days, months or years was the same thing that was known to the Bush Administration when he ordered the troops to go in. For instance, President Bush claimed that Iraq was reconstituting their nuclear bomb program, but once our people went to the nuclear facilities, we found out there was nothing going on – no R&D, no acquisitions, no staffing, etc.

When you have a major component of your claim turn out to be dubious, it is not wise to continue with the same policy without pausing to see if it is still on point.

          • bla bla

JohnSvengali was right on . . . Unfortunately Saddam Hussein violated the terms of his 1991 surrender, UN Agreements and defiantly fired ground to air missiles at out jets on many occasions. He was given every opportunity to comply or even leave Iraq . . . he choose to thumb his nose at The World/President Bush and was annihilated.

The actions in Iraq were good policy, it is impossible to calculate the world had Hussein been given free reign. THE WMDs are IRRELEVANT – there was ample cause to enforce the terms of the AGREEMENTS. Hussein’s reign of terror is over and that is not a bad thing. Iraq is about to have nuclear weapons and the impotent Obama loves muslims and supports this.

          • dsad

And thats what all the sheep say baaaahhh

          • john doe

Do you think it was okay for Obama to go into Libya with air support without approval from congress? Is that not grounds for impeachment?

          • disqus_ZhzNhBKfH0

Or, for Obama to supply weapons, including anti aircraft missles, to Al Qaeda in Libya, then transfer them to Al Qaeda in Syria?

          • CherMoe

Since Bush, Cheney & Rumsfeld were never prosecuted for war crimes and torture, a precedent was set, and I’ll bet that all future presidents will be “immune” to impeachment as easily as you suggest. I’m sure that’s why the Bush policies, the spying, the torture program and Homeland Security, the Patriot Act, etc. were all left in place, along with the introduction of the drones during the Bush admin. One can assume since Bush started two wars based on lies and fabricated intelligence, and since there were MANY deaths that were questionable, you pretty much know the answer.

        • john doe

I agree John. People act as if Saddam was a nice guy, a president who cared about his people, etc. The guy murdered his own people. He was a tyrant. He tortured people, raped wives and then killed their husbands after they were forced to watch. So even if the intel was not sound, he still needed to be taken out, period. Unfortunately, lots of innocents lost their lives on both sides. I am not for war, by no means, but when you cannot negotiate with someone who thinks nothing of gassing 3,000 of his own people, force is needed.

        • musimann

People never learn when they are brainwashed by propaganda. Americans are the most propagandized people in the world. If you can’t see through both Bush’s and Obama’s lies then you need to look at what we did and are doing in the ME because not only is it criminal and unconstitutional but it based on lies. Comparing Bush to Obama is like comparing sheep crap to bull crap. Which one do you like better? Neither one is any good and either way America is getting sh*t sandwich. America does not have the right to go around bombing people and destroying countries based on lies. They are trying it again in Syria. Sooner or later we are going to pay the price for letting ourselves become Israel’s little b*tch and it will be heavy price.

I think it was Congress that approved the 2010 refurbishing of $662 million only to have the vessel scrapped this year. I can understand the President sleeping in the middle of the night but not trying to pull the wool over our eyes by saying it was incited by an 8 month old YouTube video or later as or “guys out for a walk one night” as also supported by our Secretary of State, Ms. Clinton.

All of the money for fuels is going to Air Force One. The aircraft carriers are being overhauled to run on biofuels and the whole deck is going to be one giant solar panel. They will no longer be CVN ##, but CVH ## (Hybrid). You guys are just so insensitive with the needs of our planet and of our truely marvellous co-yo-mmander in chiefs, yo!

    • Greg Titus

The carriers currently don’t produce any greenhouse gases, except from their planes. Nuclear power is much better than biofuels. Except for that radiation thing, but that can be managed. Also, way to add unnecessary racism to your post.

The Thresher wasn’t a Nuke mishap… There was a malfunction in the emergency blow system due to a lack of a water separator. Not related to the reactor at all.

Really, it’s 4 carriers and future scrap metal or future floating museum. The Enterprise is retiring this year.

    • http://www.facebook.com/brin.londo.3 Brin Londo

Let me get this straight. The US spent $662 million to refurbish the carrier in 2010; which was 46% over budget only to have the vessel become inactivated on 1 December 2012 & decommissioned no later than 15 March 2013! It gets better, there will be very little once
the Navy dismantles & recycles the ship’s reactors. So they will tow it from Virginia to Washington State for scrapping? Must be nice
to have all the money to do this! Not to mention the 4,600 Navel personal & support crews that will need to be looking for jobs. Got to love it!

    • StukaPilot

I’d be concerned if I were Iran. ‘Cause that’s where they are going. Obama knows it’s going to take max airpower to keep the Straits of Hormuz open when USA Inc. attempts to force Iran back onto the petrodollar. If the Iranians can close the Straits for any length of time, oil goes to $300/barrel, dollar goes to hyperinflation, and adios US debtPonzi economy.

Maybe they will kill less innocent people in the name of freedom if they remained parked there. Better there and out fuel and at the bottom of the Indian ocean because they started a war for Israel that they can’t win. If you think that Iran does not have the capability to sink a carrier you need to pull your head out your a$$ and wake up. Read some real intelligence reports and not garbage on Fox Newz or CNN. I don’t see Iran bothering anyone but I see a nuclear armed PITA Israel bothering everyone. The whole world in fact.

  • Wil S

The fact that we have half the fleet in maintenance speaks of gross mismanagement. Someone/a lot of heads should roll!

  • George Davis

Five nuclear carriers moored together in port at the same time. I thought we learned a lesson about morning capital ships together at Pearl Harbor. 1941 is a long time ago but we have new dangers and new enemies.

    • Anthony Pelletier

Ennemies that the USA created by bombing other contries and killing civilians, torturing prisonners and murdering other humans…just saying

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Timmy-Hasser/851595570 Timmy Hasser

You are ignorant. Almost repulsive. You imply we went into other nations with the objective of murdering civilians and to torture prisoners. It is a bit more complex than that big man. I agree with George Davis, this reminds me of pearl harbor all over again. “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it”

        • Nelly

CIA talks about blowback. There are repercussions to going into other nations and bombing willy nilly. I’m not disagreeing with the comment about Pearl Harbor. But when we go into wars without Congressional declarations and start bombing so-called “terrorists”, what actually happens is at one time, hundreds of innocent people can be killed as collateral damage while hunting someone the U.S. deems to be a threat. Many of those killed are women and children. It does create extreme resentment towards this country and thus creates more people who would love to do damage to us. We do often create enemies with our actions.

          • http://www.facebook.com/al.dunaway.5 Al Dunaway

These people don’t hate us for bombing another country, they hate us because we are not perverts who follow Mohammad and stone, rape and behead women and anyone who doesn’t agree with their perverted beliefs. They will only be satisfied when we are all under Shariah law or dead, feel good talking just gives them more time to kill us. Just as the Japanese kamikazes were in WWII, these people are anxious to die to kill us. The only way you stop a person who wants to die is to kill him. They have been this way since about 700 AD, and I think that was before we bombed anybody.

          • CherMoe

Barbarism comes in many forms. Many countries have their their own style. Ours is no different. Everyone has their own style of torture and primitive methods of dealing with the people they choose to be enemies with. Some are very public about how they go about … others are very secretive and strike like a snake.

    • David C

George you are balls on, what’s the Navy thinking? What’s to keep the Chinese or Russians from launching a surprise missile attack, when these carriers are sitting ducks?

      • Craig

The Navy wasn’t the one doing the thinking, I believe. Orders from Headquarters, so I hear. Bet the planes are clustered, too. Kinda like Hickam Field.

What you are looking at is two things:

    1) Enough raw power to wage and WIN a war against almost any one nation on Earth.

    and
    2) A target earmarked for destuction (or the scrap heap) by President Obama bin Lyin’.

    And he is succeeding.

Better wake up America while there is still time and stop this traitors agenda in it’s tracks.

The NAVY learned what a strategically terrible idea it was to line their fleet up in nice rows in the middle of their military and industrial centers on 7 December 1941.

I’m embarrassed for our country. This degree of political idiocy can no longer be tolerated. If any terrorist organization with a nuke or a dirty bomb wants to cripple the fleet, the shipyards required to repair it, and all the people required to do the work, a shipping container is probably on its way to Chesapeake Bay. Remember, though, that there’s no SWEARING on the beach at Norfolk because that’s bad.

Those ships are mothballed, and are considered “reserve” ships. Still, you’d think they wouldn’t be in the same spot. At least one of these ships is in port for refueling, which is being delayed because the Navy does not have the funding to pay for it. Wanna bet why the others are there? Given the recent putting off of routine maintenance items due to budget cuts and a heavy operational tempo, we have 6 of 10 carriers due for major maintenance. And no money allotted to get it done. Anyone care to guess how many of these are part of that 6?

Notice they are mostly ships named for great presidents too.

BRILLIANT ASSCLOWNS ! Ever hear of Pearl Harbor?

  • Logic be damned

I see most of you know about economy better than general public does. You know about what’s going on behind the scenes. You know how the crooks keep the sheeple enslaved. You know your history. With people like you around why is country not moving forward? And this is not a rhetorical question. I mean it in all sincerity.

Damnit, that is a whole lot of energy just sitting there. If only there was a way to use it.

Thank Obama whose so intent on dismantling our military but continues to spend money on what HE thinks is important.

Sitting ducks at the docks! Have we learned nothing from Pearl Harbor 1941? At least at sea these carriers have sophisticated defensive capabilities, in addition to the protection of their battle group.

UN-FREAKING Believable!! What back sliding, stupid, non-hacking, REMF thought up this brain flatulence??? Or, is there some high placed person in our government that secretly is planning to destroy our nation?

  • Bud Mays

As a man once said, “.’ you can’t help stupid” . And we got ourselves one stupid commander in chief.

  • Tom W.

Anthony: Read the daily news and listen to TV to educate yourself about Jihad murdering thousands who are innocent. We have saved millions of lives.

What kind of message is Obama giving to the Arab World??? It’s “STUPID” if you ask me. Like the other comment “Didn’t we learn from Pearl Harbor?? Or did anyone let the Commander-In Chief what happened in Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941???

Let’s clear things up a little. The picture was published on Feb 8 2013. It was taken on Dec 20 2012. I’m sure they were all back at sea by the time anyone outside the “need to know” found out. Additionally several thousand sailors were probably able to be with their families for Christmas because of this coordinated effort.

Bet the planes are clustered, too. Like at Hickam Field.

OBAMA HATES OUR MILITARY – WILL DESTROY THEM IF POSSIBLE – DON’T CANDY COAT THIS STORY

Sorry Guys – you can quit ripping your clothing and whalling
    From Urban Legends:

Analysis: The image is authentic, but most of the “facts” stated above are fabrications.

CLAIM: “This picture was taken the other day in Norfolk.”

STATUS: False – The photo was indeed taken at Norfolk Naval Station, but it was on or about December 20, 2012, not “the other day.”

CLAIM: “The Obama Administration ordered 5 nuclear carriers into harbor for ‘routine’ (?) inspections.”

STATUS: False – None of the five carriers were ordered to Norfolk for inspection. The USS Dwight D. Eisenhower was in Norfolk for two months to have its flight deck resurfaced. The USS Harry S. Truman was in Norfolk awaiting February deployment to the Fifth Fleet. The USS George H.W. Bush completed a major overhaul in December and was undergoing flight tests. The USS Abraham Lincoln was in Norfolk awaiting departure for a refueling overhaul in Newport News. The USS Enterprise was deactivated in December and is scheduled to be dismantled.

CLAIM: “The first time since WWII that five U.S. aircraft carriers were docked together.”

STATUS: False – On July 4, 1997 five nuclear carriers — USS George Washington, USS John C. Stennis, USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, USS Theodore Roosevelt, and USS Enterprise — were all docked in Norfolk at the same time.

CLAIM: “Sources stated that this breached a long standing military protocol in the Navy meant to avoid massive enemy strike on major US forces.”

STATUS: False – I have found no record of any such statements, nor mention of any such “military protocol” in official or media sources. The last time an event like this occurred (July 1997), a Navy spokesman (Mike Maus) was quoted by Associated Press as follows:

The Navy doesn’t consider having all five in port at the same time to be a security risk, Maus said: “At this particular time, we don’t really have much of a threat from anybody.”

Why does the media feel the need to give info to our enemies that can harm us? NO reason to print this
